What is Google AdWords?

AdWords (Google AdWords) is an advertising service by Google for businesses wanting to display ads on Google and its advertising network. The AdWords program enables businesses to set a budget for advertising and only pay when people click the ads. The ad service is largely focused on keywords.

Businesses that use AdWords can create relevant ads using keywords that people who search the Web using the Google search engine would use. The Keyword, when searched for triggers your ad to be shown. AdWords are the top ads that appear under Google search results. If your AdWords ad is clicked on, search users are then directed to your website.

The official website of Google AdWords is adwords.google.com

Benefits of advertising with Google Adwords:

A few important things set AdWords apart from other kinds of advertising:
Using AdWords, you can:

  • Reach People at the precise moment they're searching for what you offer.
  • Your ad is displayed to people who are already searching for the kinds of products and services you offer. So those people are more likely to take action.
  • You can choose where your ad appears - on which specific websites and in which geographical areas (states, towns, or even neighborhoods).
  • The Google Display Network (GDN) alone reaches 80% of internet users in the US.
Control your Budget:

  • With cost-per-click (CPC) bidding, you're charged only when someone clicks your ad, not when your ad appears. There are a variety of bidding options you can choose from.
  • You decide how much or little you want to spend monthly, and you'll never be charged more than that amount.
  • There's no minimum spending commitment.
  • See exactly what's working in your ad, and build on it.
  • View a report of how your ad is doing - see how many new customers connect to your business from your ad, where they're coming from, and more.
  • Use AdWords tools to edit and improve your ad, and increase the number of potential customers who contact your business.

Google AdWords is a paid advertisement option for driving relevant traffic to your Website. It uses a bidding system for your advertisement to appear to the top of the search result page. (SERP)
When you advertise you tell Google what keywords or phrases you are interested in. When somebody searches on these keywords Google displays relevant advertisement to bring them to your website.

A very common question that bothers businesses is Should we use Google AdWords or get the site optimized so it starts appearing in searches for the results?

The recommendation is use Google AdWords first to see which keywords are effective. No point in optimizing your site for keywords when no-one clicks in the advertisement. So make sure you have relevant keywords first and then optimize your site based on this.

AdWords has evolved into Google's main source of revenue, contributing to Google's total advertising revenue of USD $43.7 billion in 2012, all the partner websites receive a portion of the generated income.
AdWords offers services such as pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and cost-per-acquisition(CPA) advertising.

That's it from my side...

Stay tuned for more digital advertising!!

Thank you....
